Robert Vojta zaproponował, aby stworzyć prosty w użyciu menedżer rozszerzeń dla OpenOffice.org. Obecnie pakiet biurowy ma masę rozszerzeń, które dają wiele funkcji Opery, czy Firefoksa, ale nie można tym w prosty sposób zarządzać. Planowane jest stworzenie głównego repozytorium, gdzie użytkownicy mogli by dodawać, oceniać i pobierać rozszerzenia, a które by służyło także do aktualizacji.
OpenOffice.org lacks simple, end user friendly, extensions manager. You probably know the Firefox browser and you probably know the Firefoxs extensions manager too. Nice, very easy tool. We are planning to develop one for the OpenOffice.org office suite.
For the beginning, here is the list of planned features:
- unlimited number of extensions repositories,
- you can install an extensions for all users or current user only,
- automatic update of installed extensions (optional),
- categorized list of available extensions,
- availability of commercial extensions – you must authorize yourself before you can download and install selected extension (a whole repository or an extension protection)
This tool will be distributed as an UNO package and as a standalone tool. Repository manager will be available too.
